I hold a Doctoral Degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, currently ranked within the top 20 universities in the world. It was here that I received my professional qualification in psychotherapy from COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland). I also have a Master of Arts degree from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of British Columbia - Okanagan.
In addition to my work with clients, I am a certified Clinical Supervisor and provide clinical supervision for other Registered Clinical Counsellors.
Beyond my experience in private practice, I have previously worked in In-Patient Mental Health facilities and hospitals as well as Out-Patient Agencies, community facilities, and public schools within Canada and the United Kingdom. I have been a university instructor for graduate level coursework in counselling and have created and managed programs within the non-profit sector, collaborating with organizations such as Fraser Health Authority, Interior Health Authority, and the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
I have volunteered with many local organizations, including the Kelowna Crisis Line, the Elizabeth Fry Society, Big Brothers and Sisters of the Okanagan, and with YMCA youth programs. I have also volunteered with the Vernon branch of the SPCA, which I found highly rewarding.
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), and a Pregnancy and Infant Loss Specialist (PAIL Advocate). I am a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and the Counselling Special Interest Group (CSIG) of the CFAS, as well as a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I am also a reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
